Implant-supported restorations
Missing teeth don't have to be numerous to cause a variety of problems. All it takes is a gap in the dentition to make it less attractive and more difficult to perform its functions. To alleviate these problems, dental implant restorations are an option of choice that we offer at the Centre dentaire Taschereau in Brossard. Depending on your situation, you can benefit from a high-quality implant-supported crown or bridge.
Dental implants, a versatile replacement option
The advantages of implant-supported restorations
- Preservation of oral structures: implants stimulate the alveolar bone, preventing it from resorbing. Adjacent teeth also retain their integrity, since they don't have to be filed down as they do when a dental bridge (fixed bridge) is fitted. Nor can their roots shift, as the empty space is filled by an implant;
- Better fit of the restoration: this increases comfort and stability during mastication, as well as aesthetics, as the crown or bridge blends in naturally with the rest of the teeth;
- Greater durability: the implant support is unlikely to weaken over time. If the restoration breaks, only the restoration itself needs to be replaced.
Implant-supported restorations for different situations
- Implant-supported crowns: used to replace a single tooth or a few distanced teeth. A single implant is required to support it. It is an ideal replacement for a dental bridge, which can also be used in this type of situation.
- Implant-supported bridge: used to replace three or four missing teeth in a row. Two, or sometimes three, implants serve as the supporting base.
Implant-supported restorations: a process overseen by our team
The implant(s) that will support the crown or bridge will first be placed directly in the clinic. Our team will be with you every step of the way. We can assess your needs, perform the necessary surgeries and, of course, create high-quality implant-supported restorations. These will be fabricated on site in our well-equipped laboratory, using high-precision techniques and materials.
