Dental veneers
Many factors affect the uniformity and aesthetics of a smile: the shape and appearance of teeth, interdental spacing, regularity of alignment and tooth color. However, these aspects are not always perfect, making the teeth less attractive. But there's a simple way to correct them, individually or in combination: dental veneers. This option, offered at the Centre dentaire Taschereau in Brossard, can greatly improve the appearance of your teeth!
What are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are thin shells of composite resin or ceramic that are applied to the visible surface of the teeth. They enhance aesthetics and regularize alignment in a single dental treatment. In addition to their simplicity, veneers stand out for their ability to camouflage several defects at the same time. For this reason, they are sometimes used as an alternative to orthodontics for minor alignment problems.
Some areas for improvement
- Tooth color: veneers can mask discolored, browned or blackened teeth. They can also correct structural yellowing of the teeth, which a whitening treatment cannot do;
- Individual appearance of teeth: this treatment can even out the different appearance of certain teeth (cracked, crooked or irregularly shaped teeth);
- Interdental spaces: sometimes too large or inconsistent;
- Dental alignment: the above-mentioned defects greatly impair the quality of dental alignment. By correcting them, you can restore a consistent, regular appearance to your teeth;
Two types of veneers to meet your needs
Porcelain veneers: custom-made (from dental impressions) from high-quality porcelain in a wide range of shades. Solid, lustrous and wear-resistant, they provide a natural, long-lasting effect. However, they require a greater investment of time and money. They take two appointments to install, and a thin layer of enamel must be removed to promote adhesion. Temporary veneers are also required to protect teeth between appointments.
