Le Centre dentaire Taschereau: Canadian Dental Care Plan Partner

FAQ

At Taschereau Dental Center, your clinic in Brossard, we emphasize making dental care accessible. For this reason, we participate in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a public dental insurance program being gradually implemented since May 2024. This program is intended for Canadians with annual household incomes of $90,000 or less and who do not have private coverage. Thanks to this initiative, eligible patients will no longer have to pay the full cost of their dental care, as part of it will be covered by the CDCP.

By participating in the CDCP, we can help more people maintain a healthy, functional, and attractive smile. We are also happy to welcome new patients who wish to benefit from our wide range of dental care services.

Canadian Dental Care Plan Information

This new public dental insurance will be available to all eligible Canadians in 2025. The program will be rolled out in several phases. Eventually, eligible individuals (see information below) will only have to pay a portion of their dental care costs, with the remainder being reimbursed by the CDCP. The percentage reimbursed by the government will vary according to your annual household income.

To benefit from this public insurance, you must first submit an application. A letter will normally be sent to eligible individuals during the initial phases of the program rollout. An insurance card and welcome package will be sent to you once your application is made and accepted. Afterwards, you won't need to file claims: when paying for your dental care, we will directly submit the reimbursement request to Sun Life, which acts as the service provider for the CDCP. You will simply need to pay the difference in costs, which is the portion of fees not covered by the public plan.

Implementation Phases

  • People over 65 can apply now.
  • People with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate and individuals under 18 can apply starting June 2024.
  • The general population will be able to apply starting in 2025, during new implementation phases.

Covered Amounts and Payments

Even if your coverage is 100%, there will be fees to pay, as the CDCP fee schedule does not match that of the Ordre des dentistes du Québec, which we use to set our prices. You will therefore need to pay the difference between the actual treatment fees and the covered amount.

At the time of your dental care, we will directly submit the reimbursement request to the CDCP and the response will be immediately available. You will then need to pay the remaining amount according to our usual payment terms.
