It is similar to ordinary tooth decay, since it also consists of a hole drilled in the tooth by bacteria concentrated on its surface. However, early childhood caries differs in its aggressiveness and the consequences it can have. These particularities are due to the more fragile enamel of milk teeth and the plasticity of toddlers' oral structures. Such damage often leads to severe pain;<\/li><br> \t<li>The spread of EPC to neighbouring teeth. In the most severe cases, the entire dentition may be affected;  <\/li><br> \t<li>Spread of the disease to the germs of permanent teeth. It's important to clean your baby's mouth after each feeding, then when teeth appear, brush and floss thoroughly. The little patient can then benefit from the preventive virtues of cleaning and fluoride application. What's more, during the examination, the dentist is able to identify the infection, even in its early stages. He can then suggest an appropriate treatment (a filling). It's important to remember that early treatment is the key to stopping EPC.
